Dr. Dennis Martin “Marty” Chaney has been in private practice since 1999. He was born and raised in Southwest Iowa. He attended the University of Northern Iowa where he majored in Biology and Chemistry.
Dr. Chaney earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree at Des Moines University. He then completed a two year foot and ankle surgical residency at the West Houston Medical Center in Houston Texas. Dr. Chaney finished his training in Houston by completing a one year reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Fellowship.
Dr. Chaney is board certified in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He has authored numerous papers regarding foot and ankle surgery. He also regularly speaks at regional and national scientific meetings on foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Chaney has served on numerous committees for the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Chaney is involved in the residency training as clinical adjunct faculty for the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
He specialized in surgery of the foot and ankle, diabetes, wound care, foot and ankle injuries/trauma. Dr. Chaney currently has office locations in Stone Oak and Alamo Heights in San Antonio. Dr. Chaney enjoys spending time with his family and hobbies include scuba diving, martial arts - Aikido and bicycling.
