Dr. Richard Perez joined Alamo Family Foot and Ankle Care 1997, following completion of his fellowship and residency in advanced techniques in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery with special emphasis on trauma at Broadlawns Medical Center. Dr. Perez is a graduate of Des Moines University’s College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.  He has lectured to professional societies on various aspects of cutting edge techniques in foot and ankle treatment.  His scholarly publications include works on extra corporeal shock wave treatment and revisional surgical techniques.

He also serves as assistants clinical professor in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Texas Health Science Center.   His areas of clinical interest include: bunion surgeries which emphasize early mobility and maximal cosmetic appearance, minimally invasive trauma reconstruction, sports injuries and diabetic wounds.  


Dr. Perez lives in San Antonio, Texas with his wife and two children. He is an avid cyclist and can usually be found pedaling the Texas Hill County on the weekends.  Additionally, he also enjoys computer programming and website design.  He has developed and maintained most of the content on this website.
